Who We Are

Evie Digirolamo (she/they) is a physical theater practitioner and teaching artist based in the Twin Cities. She has practiced with Sandbox Theatre since 2012, is a performing member of the Improv Movement Project, and founded the aerial theater The Swingset. As a teaching artist, she has received training in drama therapy techniques and uses expressive arts to communally practice expanding access, self-advocacy, bodily autonomy, healthy relationships, process grief, and spread the joy of expressing ourselves together. The Art of Relationships curriculum and Art of Consent card deck she created in collaboration with Upstream Arts is used in schools and day centers all over the metro area.

Kristina (she/her) is a creator, performer and visual artist from Chugiak, Alaska. Her work as a fiber artist has earned her a Jerome Foundation grant and numerous gallery shows. She is a graduate of St. Catherine University with a MAED in Art and Theater Education, and a founding member of The Winding Sheet Outfit.

Peter (he/him) is a creator, director, performer and educator from Minneapolis, and is the acting Artistic Director of Sandbox Theatre. He holds a BA in Theatre from the University of St. Thomas, and an MFA in Theatre: Contemporary Performance from Naropa University in Boulder, CO.

In addition to Sandbox, Peter works in performance collaboration Dolan//Heeringa.

Chasya (she/her) is a Liberian-American actress and vocalist from Birmingham, Alabama who has been based in Minneapolis since 2019. She continues to explore her passion for abstract movement, physical comedy, world music and innovative reimaginings of traditional stories. She is fascinated by the power of consciously inclusive, visually rich, acoustically thoughtful, highly physical styles of storytelling to appeal to diverse contemporary audiences.

Megan (she/her) is a theatre artist, educator and mother from Minneapolis. She holds degrees from the College of St. Catherine, with a BA in Theatre and a MA in Education.

Theo (he/him) is a multidisciplinary theatre and teaching artist from Minneapolis. A graduate of Rutgers University–Camden with a degree in Theatre Arts, Theo has been working in the Twin Cities as an actor, director, musician, composer, improviser, poet, and teaching artist for a decade. In addition to his work as a company member of Sandbox, he is a co-artistic director of Red Eye Theater, a member of Blackout Improv, and a regular cast member of The Theater of Public Policy.

Jaya (she/her) is a stage manager and theatre artist from Chatham, NJ. She is a graduate of Yale University.

hal sansone (he/him) is a theatre artist, writer, and herbalist-gardener. For the last two years with Sandbox, he has organized and directed the Minneapolis premiere of the Trans Voices Cabaret. Other works with Sandbox include Light My Way, Bone Mother, The Golden Record Project, and Words.Do.Move. He has worked with various theatre companies in the Twin Cities as an actor, deviser, and teaching artist since 2018, and was a 2024 Naked Stages Fellow with Pillsbury House + Theatre. As a poet, his micro-chapbook Winter Garlic: Healing Poems for my Root System was published by Ethel in 2023.
